Message from the Vice Mayor

 

The 73^rd Araw ng Dabaw reminds us of how our city, through the years, thrived to become stable, independent, and successful. Through the unity of the Dabawenyos, emerged a stronger and more firm Davao admired and revered by others. We have a society that is informed, aware, and takes active part in social, civic, and political concerns. More importantly, we are blessed with powerful, passionate, and spirited leaders and citizenry whose contributions to the city are immeasurable.

 

It is highly appropriate that as we celebrate Araw ng Dabaw with our theme: \"Katatagan ay Kapangyarihan: Pagpapatibay at Pagdiriwang!\", we likewise celebrate the \"Women\'s Month\" and look into the contributions of different women all over the world, and most importantly, the women of Davao. Like a child, they shape and nurture Davao into a blooming and strong city capable of withstanding any challenged to its integrity. Also, with women becoming more empowered and self-reliant we are moving into a future equipped in dealing with abuse, violence, and women\'s rights.

 

Again, let us rejoice for the continued progress of one of the most admired cities in the country and let us be one in paying tribute to the generations of Dabawenyos whose commitment to humanity have proved invaluable to our society. Come, taste, and experience what Davao has to offer as we celebrate its founding anniversary. Madayaw ug Malipayong Araw ng Dabaw!
